Going back to our hometown is always such a treat. Hubby-to-be's mom is an excellent cook, and her home-cooked meals always make the 4-hour journey worth the while.
This trip, we were greeted with an assam laksa lunch upon arrival, and boy, did I go overboard with piling on the ingredients.
Lots and lots of kembong fish (from the newly opened Tesco! my happy place, yay!) in the gravy! We love mom's assam laksa!

da mouse died, think cat got to it. will replace it with a tough rat.

um: heh koh not shown in pics, but we put ALOT in. hope your rat lives longer than the mouse did.
actually it was a tigress that sapu-ed da tikus.........
the fish looks good and is real ikan, not shredded newspaper.
just re-looked at the pictures and realise that there is no bunga kantan. must have this for fragrance. so hard to get downunda.
ps mouse recovered. miracle.
um : got bunga kantan, buried underneath all the soup, fish and laksa noodles. that was the first thing that went into the bowl.
