Mongo the lost and found

I have christened the lost orange kitty Mongo.
Mongo underwent abdominal surgery this morning for his massive hernia. His abdominal cavity perforated and his intestines were outside where they were supposed to be......he must have been in a lot of pain to have been crying for so many days and nights now. He's also been neutered, hopefully that would mean less getting into scraps with other cats. When I left, Mongo was still unconscious from the anaesthesia, but otherwise ok. He'll be spending the weekend at Dr. Ben's clinic for observation. I hope his condition remains ok. I hope he recovers fully, after such long suffering.
We played around this morning before going to the vet, hoarse and tired though he was. Purrrr......he loves his ear and chin rubs. Mongo started off very shy, but now that he knows me, he is very tame, affectionate, and hungers for attention.....he must have been neglected a long while. He's also rather skinny compared to Mankie, my tubby baby.
But, weak though he looks, his curiosity knows no bounds. He checked out Mankie and Mandy's room, under my watchful eyes, of course. Needless to say, the 2 resident cats were not too happy and gave many warning growls. Mongo didn't want to fight as he knew he was not the alpha male, and just walked about very cautiously, afraid of looking into Mankie's eyes. Poor Mongo!

Lucky Mongo to be picked up and taken home by you! Hope he feels better soon and gets on well with the rest of the household.

Target and Au are now very good friends. (Au is 10 years old, Target about 6 months) Au takes Target for walks in the neighbourhood and keeps a very close eye on him. In return Target chews Au's ears, steals his food and behaves like a brat.

Hope Mongo is politer to his new playmates!

Thanks Ellen, Mongo is recuperating from surgery at my home for now, I intend to put some meat on this skinny boy and get him up and running again. I am looking to rehome him after he's well enough, so if you know of anyone looking for a pet cat who's oh so loving, do let me know ok? Thanks!

Mongo indeed is very lucky, to have you find him. We feel so very bad he had suffered but he will be well and Mandy and Mankie will adjust. He is beautiful. If we hear of anyone in your area who would be a good home for Mongo we will let you know ASAP.

Still sending many purrs and loves for you all. Give all your beautiful babies nose kisses and love for us.

HUGS and Scritches...
