Damansara Village Steamboat Restaurant, Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara, Petaling Jaya

The Damansara Village Steamboat Restaurant website boasts of this place to be "First of its kind steamboat restaurant featuring "live" Pulau Ketam seafood. Fish, crabs, prawns, scallops, clams. All 'live'. All fresh."

This restaurant is nestled in the residential area of Damansara Jaya. We had a small departmental gathering here the other day, which took up 2 tables.
We started off with some chicken satay for appetiser.
And a pile of delicious deep fried chicken wings, which went very well with the sweet chilli sauce.

Also tried the deep fried dumplings. Crunchy goodness.

I don't usually eat pak cham kai (steamed silky chicken), but this one was covered with a fragrant soya sauce gravy and deep fried onions/garlic, so I had a go. Very nicely done, if I may so.

And now, the steamboat ingredients. This was the secret to great tasting steamboat stock; Chinese wine and lots of herbs!

Ma yau fish, super fresh, shiny and sweet.

Taiwan pomfret, also super fresh and tasty.

Crab sticks.

Clams.
Pretty flower crabs.
My favourite, quail eggs.

Egg noodles and chicken eggs.

Mussles, scallops and abalone slices.
An assortment of fish-paste-based ingredients, dumplings and balls.

Boil all, and feast! Our two tables (around 15 persons) paid a total of RM525 (if memory serves me right). Quite pricey for steamboat, but considering the very fresh ingredients and the lovely herbal wine broth, it was worth the money.

My all-time fav steamboat place! Yes, slightly pricey but i find it worth it and full of satisfaction especially those fish, crab and prawns that came out straight from the tanks. Slurps!
