Restoran 88 is usually rather crowded on weekends. Located on top of a hill, it offers a good view of KL city on a clear night. It seems to be a popular haunt for the locals here. We've been here a couple of times, so we know that the food is good, though it can get a tad pricey.
We've had too much meat that week, so we ordered fish fillets in herbal gravy. This dish came heated on top of a mini stove. This was a pretty tasty dish, with the fish priced at RM60.00/kg, our portion of 300g came up to RM18.00. I can't remember the name of the fish, since mom-in-law ordered in Cantonese.
The house-specialty tofu, deep fried and crispy on the outside, soft and wobbly inside, and topped with minced pork (RM10.00).
For greens, we ordered the 4-heavenly king vegetables, fried with dried shrimps.
The meal was simple, but good. Restoran 88 has a lot of other more famous dishes; their mayonnaise pork ribs, crabs and hot plate seafood, for example, are worth trying.
